- Perfect for first-time and renewal CDL/CLP applicants, and those adding endorsements
- Based on 2025 NJ commercial driver's license manual
- Triple-checked for accuracy
- Updated for September 2025
In New Jersey, the Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) oversees the licensing process. To qualify for a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), you must first meet eligibility requirements. Anyone 18 or older can become a commercial driver if they hold a driver’s license, present identification documents, and pass a vision test. Until age 21, commercial drivers may only operate within New Jersey and are not allowed to carry passengers or transport hazardous materials. If you plan to be engaged in non-excepted commerce, you must also pass a DOT medical exam.
The official New Jersey Commercial Driver License Manual (New Jersey CDL Handbook 2025) will be your primary study resource during your learning phase. This handbook will teach you the various aspects of commercial driving theory. The official general knowledge exam will evaluate your knowledge through {official-num} questions based on this manual. To achieve a passing score (80% or higher) on your first attempt, you should use efficient tools that can boost your learning potential.
Our New Jersey CDL Class B Practice Test has been recently updated for September 2025. It consists of 50 multiple-choice questions you can answer at your own pace. (For your convenience, we have omitted any timer from this practice test.) A detailed explanation of the correct answer is provided for each question. Please read this feedback and note it in a notebook or notebook app for future reference.
The text size can be changed by using the slider in the test settings menu. To open this menu, click the three dots in the top-right corner of the page. Here you will also find several other features you can use to customize your testing experience. As long as you’re not in private browsing mode (such as Incognito mode in Google Chrome), your progress will be automatically saved.
Commercial driving theory cannot be learned overnight. If you start today, you’ll be ready to take the official general knowledge test within a few weeks. Patience and consistency are crucial during your learning phase, which you shouldn’t be rushing. Our New Jersey CDL Class B Practice Test will make you a better commercial driver and prepare you for your dream career.
