Getting a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) in New Mexico might be a long and difficult process, but we’re here to make it easier for you to pass your theory exams on the first try. The New Mexico Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) oversees the licensing process. It requires all applicants to pass a 50-question general knowledge exam before they can get a Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP). This exam is taken at a MVD location. You must answer all 50 questions before the timer ends and score 80% or higher to pass, leaving little room for error.
Our New Mexico CDL Class B Practice Test is an intuitive tool designed to boost your learning potential. It enables you to master commercial driving theory through active learning. All 50 questions are based on the New Mexico Commercial Driver License Manual (New Mexico CDL Handbook 2025), an official resource published by the MVD. You should read its contents multiple times during your learning phase, as it describes the various aspects of commercial driving theory in detail.
“Officer Frank,” our automated assistant, will be present during your training sessions. This AI coach can provide personalized answers to your individual questions, helping you understand complex topics. You can initiate a conversation with “Officer Frank” and request hints whenever you encounter a difficult question. Additionally, you can ask for real-life examples and detailed explanations that will help you understand the reasoning behind each correct answer.
