You will need a "T" endorsement to pull two or three trailers connected in tandem. (Alabama prohibits pulling triples, but some other states allow them on certain interstates or designated routes.) These configurations demand advanced skills, and only professional commercial drivers succeed in this field. Before you begin the licensing process, you should read Section 7 (Doubles and Triples) of the official Commercial Driver License Manual (Alabama CDL Handbook 2026). You will learn how to inspect doubles and triples, how to check air brakes, and how coupling and uncoupling work in such vehicles.
To add this endorsement to your Class A CDL, you must pass a written knowledge test at the DMV office. This exam includes questions focusing on the safe operation of Longer Combination Vehicles (LCVs). A minimum score of 80% is required to pass, leaving little room for error. Our Alabama CDL Double/Triple Trailers Practice Tests are designed to help you achieve a passing score on your first attempt. You’re about to train with the fourth practice test in this series.
We’ve added several features to enhance your learning experience. You will find them in the test settings menu, which can be opened by clicking the three dots in the top-right corner of the page.
