The Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) allows you to legally drive commercial vehicles with a gross combination weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 pounds or more, provided the towed unit is over 10,000 pounds. Common vehicle types include flatbeds, tankers, and 18-wheelers. This is the class of CDL you should obtain if you want to drive combination vehicles. To get this license and begin your career as a commercial driver in Arizona, you must complete the licensing process. Arizona’s Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) oversees this process and requires all applicants to pass several exams.
In addition to the official general knowledge exam, you must pass the official combination vehicles test and a skills test in a Class A commercial vehicle to legally operate semi-trucks and tractor-trailers. Both exams have 20 multiple-choice questions, which you must answer within a time limit. A minimum score of 80% is required to pass. This Arizona CDL Combination Vehicles Practice Test can help you ace the combination vehicles knowledge exam on your first attempt. You can also check our free Arizona CDL permit practice test to strengthen your understanding of commercial driving theory.
This intuitive tool is based on Section 6 (Combination Vehicles) of the official Arizona Commercial Driver License Manual (Arizona CDL Handbook 2025). It is up to date as of October 2025 and includes several features. An automated assistant will be present during your training sessions, ready to provide hints, real-life examples, and helpful insight. To achieve a passing score on the official combination vehicles knowledge exam, you should train with this practice test for several weeks. Since your knowledge can only be improved gradually, we highly advise against rushing. Our practice tests are not timed; you can finish each training session at your own pace.
On exam day, it’s common for students to feel anxious or nervous. These emotions are normal, but you shouldn’t let them interfere with your performance. When used regularly, our Arizona CDL Combination Vehicles Practice Tests can help you build the confidence you need to succeed.
