- Perfect for first-time and renewal CDL/CLP applicants, and those adding endorsements
- Based on 2025 AZ commercial driver's license manual
- Triple-checked for accuracy
- Updated for September 2025
Ready to boost your earning potential in the Grand Canyon State? The Doubles/Triples (T) Endorsement is one of the smartest ways to do that! This endorsement on your Arizona Class A CDL will qualify you to operate double and triple trailer combinations. Carriers across Arizona operate on its major roadways, including I-10, I-40, and I-17, and are constantly looking for T-endorsed drivers for their transport needs.
You must already hold a valid Arizona Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP) or a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) to sit for the Arizona Doubles/Triples Knowledge Test. This test is based on Section 7 of the Arizona Commercial Driver License Manual and consists of 20 multiple-choice questions. To pass, you must answer at least 16 questions (80%) correctly. If you fail, the Arizona MVD requires you to wait at least one business day before retesting, with additional fees applying. Effective preparation for this exam will ensure you pass on your first attempt, avoiding delays and added fees. That is where our suite of Arizona-specific practice tests comes in!
Because only four incorrect answers are allowed, there is little room for error. Our team of experts has created free Arizona CDL Doubles/Triples Knowledge Practice Tests designed to mirror the official exam format. You’ll get real-time feedback, hints, and AI-powered study tools to boost retention and speed learning. Our practice tests cover coupling and uncoupling procedures, managing the “crack-the-whip” effect, preventing rollovers and jackknifing, adjusting following distances, and conducting proper inspections – every topic you’ll need to pass on your first try.
Once you earn the T Endorsement, you can legally haul doubles or triples (where permitted) for carriers like FedEx Freight, Old Dominion, and UPS, instantly adding a new array of opportunities. You must also pass the Arizona Air Brakes Knowledge Test and complete your CDL skills exam in a vehicle with full air brakes. Doing this removes the “L” or “Z” restriction. Simply put, with that restriction in place, you cannot pull most doubles or triples. Our Air Brakes Practice Tests can help ensure you’re ready.
Arizona CDL holders can also pursue endorsements for N (Tank Vehicles), H (Hazardous Materials), X (Tank + Hazmat Combo), P Passenger Vehicles), and S (School Bus Drivers). We offer Arizona-specific practice tests for each endorsement.
