- Perfect for first-time and renewal CDL/CLP applicants, and those adding endorsements
- Based on 2025 CT commercial driver's license manual
- Triple-checked for accuracy
- Updated for August 2025
Connecticut has a lot to offer drivers who add the Doubles/Triples Trailers Endorsement to their Class A CDL. To legally operate double trailer combinations in Connecticut, you must pass the Doubles/Triples Trailers Knowledge Test, which adds this valuable T Endorsement. (Triple trailers are not allowed in Connecticut.) Our Free Connecticut CDL Doubles/Triples Practice Tests are designed to mirror the official Connecticut DMV test format and help you pass on your first attempt. These practice tests include real-time feedback, strategically placed hints to guide you along, and AI-enhanced tools that speed learning and improve retention far beyond traditional study methods.
The official Connecticut Doubles/Triples Endorsement Exam consists of 20 multiple-choice questions, and at least 16 must be answered correctly (80%) to pass. If you fail, the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) enforces a minimum one-business-day waiting period before you may retest, and additional fees may apply. Our practice tests are essential in helping you minimize delays and expenses!
Our practice test material is derived from the most recent Connecticut CDL Manual and focuses on safety strategies specific to combination vehicles. These include proper coupling and uncoupling procedures, avoiding jackknifing and rollovers, steering smoothly to prevent the “crack-the-whip” effect, maintaining longer following distances, and thoroughly inspecting all trailers.
Earning a T Endorsement in Connecticut opens up higher-paying job opportunities with major logistics and freight companies. With high-traffic roadways like I‑95, I‑84, and I‑91 running through the state, and access to major hubs in Hartford, New Haven, Stamford, and Bridgeport, the demand for CDL drivers with doubles/triples certifications is significant. Organizations like FedEx Ground, Old Dominion Freight Line, and XPO Logistics frequently hire Connecticut drivers with this endorsement.
Connecticut also offers endorsements for Tank Vehicles (N), Hazardous Materials (H), the X Combo (N plus H) Endorsement, Passenger (P) vehicles, and School Buses (S). Each requires its own written test, and we offer Connecticut-specific practice tests to help you pass each one.
Also, because most double/triple trailer combinations use air brakes, you’ll need to pass the Air Brakes Knowledge Test to remove the “L” or “Z” restriction from your CDL. You guessed it! We’ve got Connecticut Air Brakes practice tests, too!
This Practice Test is one of two in our current Connecticut CDL Doubles/Triples series. Be sure to try the other one, along with our complete set of knowledge, endorsement, and air brake practice tests aligned with Connecticut DMV requirements.
