Passing the CDL Combination Vehicles Knowledge Test is required to earn a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and legally drive combination vehicles in Georgia. Other requirements for obtaining the Class A CDL include passing a skills test in a combination vehicle. Also, Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) through an FMCSA-approved provider is required before you even schedule your CDL skills test. The state’s Combination Vehicles Knowledge Test consists of 20 multiple-choice questions, and you must score at least 80% to pass. If you fail the exam, you must wait at least one business day and pay a retest fee. Our Georgia CDL Combination Vehicles Practice Tests are designed to help you pass on your first attempt.
Based on the most recent state CDL Manual, our Georgia CDL Combination Practice Test provides immediate feedback, hints, and answer explanations. It also mimics the format and content of the official exam. Topics include safe driving practices for combination vehicles, braking systems (air brakes) in combination vehicles, proper coupling and uncoupling procedures, and inspection procedures.
Original questions by our teamBased on 2026 GA CDL Handbook
Questions are created and maintained by the Driving-Tests.org content team following our multi-layer editorial process and updated whenever the GeorgiaDDS changes its handbook or website information. Official sources we check:
Earning your Class A CDL opens additional marketability for Georgia commercial drivers. Major trucking corridors in Georgia include I-75 (linking Atlanta to Macon and Valdosta), I-16 (connecting Macon to Savannah), and I-20 (from Augusta and Atlanta to Alabama). Major industries that depend on Class A CDL drivers include logistics, food and beverage, manufacturing, agriculture (and ag technology), manufacturing, logistics, transportation, film, and convention and trade show businesses. Coca-Cola Bottling Company, UNITED, US Foods, Home Depot, Chick-fil-A Supply LLC, Georgia-Pacific, Kemi Construction, UPS, XPO Logistics, J.H. Seale and Son Inc., and Colonial Pipeline Company actively seek qualified Class A CDL drivers. With such a wide variety of industries and major businesses operating in Georgia, securing your Class A license is a lucrative step in widening your job prospects.
You should also prepare for and take the air brakes knowledge test if you haven’t already, since most tractor-trailers, semi-trucks, and combination vehicles have air brakes. We offer Air Brakes practice tests designed to help you pass the exam on your first attempt. Other qualifications to consider are Tanker (N), HazMat (H), and Doubles/Triples (T).
The Class A CDL dramatically increases your skill set and job options within the commercial driving profession. Use our entire suite of Georgia-specific practice tests to fully prepare and consider more certifications after that!

How we make exam‑like questions

What we don’t do
We don’t collect or publish actual test items and we’re not affiliated with DDS.
