GA CDL Combination Vehicles Practice Test 3 2025

  • Perfect for first-time and renewal CDL/CLP applicants, and those adding endorsements

Driving tractor-trailers or other combination vehicles in Georgia requires earning a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). To qualify, you must pass the Combination Vehicles Knowledge Test and complete other state and federal requirements (including the CDL General Knowledge Test) before taking the skills exam. According to the Georgia DDS, you cannot take the CDL skills test until you complete Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) with an FMCSA-approved training provider.

The Georgia Combination Vehicles Knowledge Test consists of 20 multiple-choice questions. Topics tested on the official exam include safe operation of combination vehicles, air brake systems in tractor-trailers, coupling and uncoupling procedures, preventing skids and jackknives, and vehicle inspection requirements. You must answer at least 16 correctly (80%) to pass. If you fail, you must wait at least one business day and pay a retest fee for each additional attempt. You are needed on the road as soon as possible in Georgia, so our experts have developed the perfect tool to ensure you pass this test on your first attempt!

Our Georgia CDL Combination Practice Tests mirror the structure and content of the official exam and feature instant feedback, hints, and answer explanations. They draw directly from the latest Georgia CDL Manual (Georgia CDL Handbook 2025), which is the primary resource for the official exam. This practice test is one of several in our series, so be sure to check out another one here: https://driving-tests.org/georgia/ga-cdl-combination-test/.

Major trucking routes such as I-75, I-16, and I-20 link Atlanta, Savannah, Macon, and Augusta. Top employers like Chick-fil-A Supply LLC, Coca-Cola Bottling Company, Colonial Pipeline Company, Georgia-Pacific, Home Depot, Kemi Construction, UNITED, UPS, US Foods, and XPO Logistics hire qualified Class A drivers.

Remember that most tractor-trailers use air brakes, so you’ll also need to pass the Air Brakes Knowledge Test to avoid a restriction on your CDL. Take a look at one of our Air Brakes Practice Tests here: https://driving-tests.org/georgia/ga-cdl-air-brake-practice-test/. We also recommend preparing for optional endorsements, such as Tanker (N), Hazardous Materials (H), and Doubles/Triples (T) to further expand your qualifications.

With Georgia’s strong demand for Class A CDL drivers, you’ll be well on your way to a high-earning, stable career in transportation.
