- Perfect for first-time and renewal CDL/CLP applicants, and those adding endorsements
- Based on 2025 GA commercial driver's license manual
- Triple-checked for accuracy
- Updated for September 2025
Whether you’re hauling freight along I-75, I-95, or I-20, or travelling through major hubs like Atlanta, Macon, Savannah, Brunswick, and Augusta, hauling doubles on Georgia’s highways can lead to bigger paychecks and more job options, as well as a competitive edge over other drivers. Earning the Doubles/Triples (T) Endorsement opens doors to major Georgia carriers like Old Dominion, XPO Logistics, and FedEx Freight that require T-endorsed drivers for many of their transport needs.
To legally operate double or triple trailers, you must pass the Doubles/Triples Knowledge Test, which is based on Section 7 of the Georgia Commercial Driver’s Manual. The exam is administered by the Georgia DDS and consists of 20 multiple-choice questions. In order to pass, you must answer at least 16 questions correctly (a minimum score of 80%). If you fail, you must wait at least one business day before retesting and pay additional fees after three failed attempts. Avoid these added expenses and delays by using our practice tests, which help ensure you pass the exam on your first attempt.
With only four incorrect answers allowed on the official knowledge test, preparation is key. Our Georgia-specific Doubles/Triples Knowledge Practice Tests are designed to mirror the official DDS exam format and include special features like real-time feedback, helpful hints, and AI-driven study tools that enhance the learning process. These methods dramatically speed up the overall process and improve long-term retention far more effectively than traditional study guides.
Our practice tests cover everything needed, including coupling and uncoupling procedures for multiple trailers, preventing rollovers and jackknifing, understanding and avoiding the “crack-the-whip” effect, inspection steps for doubles and triples, and braking distances and safe following practices for combination vehicles.
You’ll also need to eliminate any “L” restriction from your CDL by passing the Air Brakes Knowledge Test (and completing your skills test in a vehicle equipped with air brakes). If not, your “L” restriction will prevent you from operating air brake-equipped vehicles (which includes most doubles and triples!).
To further expand your qualifications, consider “stacking” endorsements. We offer free Georgia CDL practice tests for N (Tank Vehicles), H (Hazardous Materials), X (Tank/Hazmat Combination), P (Passenger), and S (School Bus) endorsements. Each one adds to your versatility as a CDL driver and helps ensure complete access to CDL driving opportunities.
