The official General Knowledge Exam includes 50 multiple-choice questions, out of which you must answer 40 of them correctly (80%) to pass. Passing the written test will grant you a Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP), which allows you to practice driving commercial vehicles under the supervision of a full CDL holder. After 14 days, you can schedule and take the CDL skills tests.
