The Gem State has lots of passenger transportation job opportunities, including resort areas, ski shuttles, church trips, school transportation networks, charter services, and intercity routes throughout the state. From volcanic landscapes and alpine lakes to the Northwest’s largest theme park and resort towns, major spots include Shoshone Falls (the “Niagara of the West”), Craters of the Moon National Monument, and the luxury ski-resort area of Sun Valley. Because of all of this, the job opportunities for CDL holders with a Passenger "P" Endorsement are seemingly endless. If you plan to drive a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) designed to transport 16 or more passengers, including yourself, and you have a commercial driver’s license (CDL), you’ll need the Passenger "P" endorsement. One of the requirements is passing the Passenger Endorsement Knowledge Test. You must answer 16 out of 20 questions accurately to pass. With such limited room for error, our content experts have put together a series of Idaho DMV CDL Passenger Endorsement Practice Tests that mimic the design and wording of the official exam. These AI-powered interactive practice tests feature a Challenge Bank™ that recycles missed questions until you answer correctly and help ensure you pass your official exam on your first attempt. The endorsement exam is by no means your only requirement for transporting 16 or more passengers. You must also pass the Air Brakes knowledge test if the CMV you plan to drive has air brakes. Additionally, you must pass a behind-the-wheel Skills Test in a representative vehicle. Testing in a smaller passenger vehicle can restrict the class of vehicle you may legally operate, and testing without air brakes can leave you restricted from operating air brake-equipped vehicles. That is a lot to overcome, but don’t worry. In addition to our Endorsement Practice Tests, we also have CDL and Air Brakes Practice Tests to guide you along the way.
The P endorsement knowledge exam tests whether you understand how to keep passengers safe, including pre-trip and post-shift inspections. You must know how to inspect the bus’s brakes, steering, lights, tires, mirrors, wheels, coupling devices, emergency equipment, and interior safety features, including clear aisles, secure seats, working signals, and usable emergency exits. You must also understand safe loading, baggage rules, hazardous materials restrictions, standee lines, disruptive passengers, smooth driving, brake-door interlocks, and required railroad crossing procedures. Our practice tests cover all of these expectations.
