On the Kansas Turnpike and major roadways, such as I-70 and I-35, and the wheat fields, cattle operations, aviation manufacturing, and rural communities across the Sunflower State, drivers with a commercial driver’s license (CDL) connect businesses with markets throughout the country. In order to obtain a Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP), one of the requirements is to pass the Kansas DMV CDL General Knowledge Test. To obtain a CDL, you must hold the CLP for at least 14 days, complete Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) through a provider listed in the federal Training Provider Registry (TPR), and pass a Skills Test. Without a doubt, there are multiple steps involved in the overall process and a lot of material to be learned for the official knowledge exam. The exam contains 50 multiple-choice questions, and you must answer at least 40 correctly to earn the required 80% minimum passing score. Don’t worry.
