With your Kentucky Class A CDL in hand, you are only a couple of steps from obtaining the T endorsement, which will give you the legal ability to operate double or triple trailer combinations. To do so, you must pass the Doubles and Triples Knowledge Test. Our Free Kentucky CDL Doubles and Triples Knowledge Practice Tests are specifically designed to mimic the official test and help ensure first-time success. Our practice tests offer real-time feedback, built-in hints, and AI tools to help you learn and retain information faster.
The official exam in Kentucky consists of 20 multiple-choice questions. In order to pass, you must answer at least 16 questions correctly (80%). If you fail, the Kentucky Division of Driver Licensing (DDL) requires a minimum one-business-day waiting period before retesting. After three failed attempts, a retesting fee applies. With the help of our practice tests, you can avoid delays and extra fees by passing on your first attempt.

Questions are created and maintained by the Driving-Tests.org content team following our multi-layer editorial process and updated whenever the KentuckyKSP changes its handbook or website information. Official sources we check:
All questions are based on material presented in the most recent Kentucky CDL Manual, the official source for your exam. With a focus on safe driving techniques to avoid rollovers, coupling and uncoupling procedures, techniques to prevent jackknifing, braking procedures for long combination vehicles, safe following distances, and trailer inspection procedures, our fully comprehensive practice tests include all the material needed to pass the exam.
Adding a T Endorsement in Kentucky can open doors to higher-paying driving jobs. With roadways like I-64, I-65, and I-75, and major hubs like Louisville, Lexington, Bowling Green, and Northern Kentucky, the demand for CDL drivers with T Endorsements is very high. Organizations like UPS, Schneider, and Old Dominion require doubles/triples drivers for their hauling needs.
Additionally, we recommend you earn endorsements like tank vehicles (N), hazardous materials (H), passenger (P), school bus (S), and X Combo (tank + hazmat). Each endorsement adds marketability to your CDL, and each requires a knowledge test (we offer practice tests for each).
Most double and triple trailer combinations use air brakes, so you’ll also need to pass the Air Brakes Knowledge Test to remove the “L” or “Z” restriction from your CDL. And yes, we offer Kentucky Air Brakes practice tests too!
This practice test is the second of two in our Kentucky CDL Doubles and Triples Knowledge Practice Test series. Check out Practice Test One and explore our full set of other endorsement and air brake practice tools, tailored to Kentucky DDL requirements.
We know what it takes to pass. And we’ve got the proof.
