Are you a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) holder ready to add even more marketability to your license with the Passenger Endorsement? The Bluegrass State has passenger transportation needs spanning Louisville, Lexington, Bowling Green, Frankfort, Owensboro, Paducah, and Appalachia, and including college towns, bourbon tourism routes, airport shuttles, church trips, school transportation networks, public transit, senior transportation, and much more. Many new opportunities await properly licensed drivers. If you have your CDL and plan to drive a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) designed to carry 16 or more people, including yourself, you’ll need a Passenger "P" endorsement. One of the requirements for obtaining this endorsement is passing the Passenger Transport Knowledge Test. You must also pass the Air Brakes Knowledge Test if the CMV you plan to drive has air brakes, and you also must pass the Skills Tests for the class of passenger vehicle you plan to operate (if you have not already done so). That’s a lot of testing, but don’t worry. Our multiple-choice Kentucky KSP CDL Passenger Endorsement Practice Tests use the same structure and wording as the official exam, so you’ll already be familiar with the test before you walk in the testing center door.
As you prepare, you’ll learn about pre-trip and post-shift inspections, including how to inspect the service brakes, parking brake, steering mechanism, lights, reflectors, tires, horn, windshield wipers, mirrors, wheels, rims, coupling devices, and emergency equipment. You’ll also cover the inside of the bus, where aisles and stairwells must be clear, handholds and railings must be secure, signaling devices must work, seats must be fastened safely, and emergency exit signs, handles, doors, windows, and roof hatches must be ready for use.
You must stop between 15 and 50 feet before railroad crossings and look and listen carefully before crossing. You must also avoid changing gears while crossing tracks in a manual-transmission vehicle. At a drawbridge without a signal light or traffic control attendant, you must stop at least 50 feet before the draw and make sure it is completely closed before crossing.
All of this and more is covered. Taking the guesswork out of what is needed, our practice tests help you remember what matters for the official exam. Once you’ve aced this practice test, try another: https://driving-tests.org/kentucky/ky-cdl-passenger-vehicles-practice-test/.
