With a Maryland Class A CDL in hand, you’re just steps away from unlocking access to higher-paying jobs across the Mid-Atlantic. Whether you’re hauling on I‑95, I‑70, or I‑83 or navigating the busy roadways of Baltimore, Frederick, or the D.C. suburbs, the Doubles/Triples (T) Endorsement is your key to boosted pay and opportunities. Major carriers like FedEx, XPO, and Old Dominion often hire Maryland CDL drivers certified to pull multiple trailers.
To operate doubles (and triple trailers where allowed) legally, you must pass the Doubles and Triples (T) Endorsement Knowledge Test to add the T endorsement to your Class A CDL. There is a lot of material on the official test, so our Free Maryland CDL Doubles and Triples (T) Endorsement Knowledge Practice Tests are designed to match the format of the MVA official exam. We have also crafted our practice tests to offer real-time feedback, hints, and smart AI tools that accelerate your learning far beyond traditional study guides.

Questions are created and maintained by the Driving-Tests.org content team following our multi-layer editorial process and updated whenever the MarylandMVA changes its handbook or website information. Official sources we check:
The official test is made up of 20 multiple-choice questions. You’ll need to answer 16 of them correctly (for a minimum score of 80%) in order to pass. If you fail, you must wait at least one business day to retest. After three failures, additional fees will apply. With only four missed questions allowed, it is vital that you are well prepared. Our experts have designed our practice tests so you can pass on your first try!
Our test questions are based on the latest Maryland CDL Manual so you won’t be surprised by new material not covered elsewhere. We cover coupling/uncoupling procedures for multi-trailer units, prevention of rollovers and jackknifing, the “crack-the-whip” effect and how to avoid it, braking and steering for long vehicle combinations, inspection procedures, and extended following distances. We will give you all the tools and know-how to pass!
Most double and triple trailer combinations use air brakes, so you’ll also need to pass the Maryland CDL Air Brakes Knowledge Test and a skills test in a vehicle with air brakes. We offer practice tests for that too!
Maryland CDL holders can further increase their versatility (and income!) by earning additional stackable endorsements, including (N) Tank Vehicles, (H) Hazardous Materials, (X) Tank + HazMat Combo, (P) Passenger, and (S) School Bus. We have Maryland-specific practice tests for each of these.
Explore our full lineup of knowledge, endorsement, and air brake tests, all designed to help you succeed the first time.

What we use

How we make exam‑like questions
We mirror recurring themes (e.g., right‑of‑way traps, sign look‑alikes) and use similar distractors and wording styles.
What we don’t do
We don’t collect or publish actual test items and we’re not affiliated with MVA.
