MA CDL Double/Triple Trailers Practice Test 2 2025

  • Perfect for first-time and renewal CDL/CLP applicants, and those adding endorsements.

Already have your Massachusetts Class A CDL? Great! Now you’re just one endorsement away from more specialized (and higher-paying) driving opportunities. The Doubles/Triples (T) Endorsement is the name of the game. With it, you can legally operate double-trailer combinations on Massachusetts roads and beyond.

To earn it, you’ll need to pass the Massachusetts CDL Double and Triple Trailers (T) Endorsement Knowledge Test. This can be quite a challenge, as it includes 20 multiple-choice questions, 16 (80%) of which must be answered correctly to pass. If you don’t pass, the Massachusetts RMV requires you to wait at least one business day before retesting. After three failed attempts, a retesting fee will apply – and nobody wants that!

That’s why our Free Massachusetts CDL Double and Triple Trailers (T) Endorsement Knowledge Practice Tests are built to help you succeed the first time. These tests mirror the official format used by the Massachusetts RMV and include real-time feedback, hints, and AI-powered learning tools, everything you’ll need to pass!

All practice questions are based on the latest Massachusetts CDL Manual. You’ll learn all about coupling and uncoupling of trailers, techniques to prevent rollovers and jackknifing, safe braking procedures for long combination vehicles, proper following distances, and inspection procedures. These topics are all commonly found on the official test.

With major roadways like the Mass Pike (I‑90), I‑93, and I‑495, and freight activity surrounding hubs in Boston, Worcester, and Springfield, the need for CDL drivers with the T certification is strong. Employers like FedEx Freight, Old Dominion, and XPO Logistics regularly seek T-endorsed drivers and pay a premium to get them!

Want even more career flexibility? Consider earning additional endorsements, such as N (Tank Vehicle), H (Hazardous Materials), X (Combination of Tank & Hazmat), P (Passenger), and S (School Bus). Each endorsement expands the types of vehicles and cargo you’re authorized to transport. This results in a substantial boost in your marketability!

Most double and triple trailer combinations use air brakes. To legally operate these without restriction, you must also pass the Air Brakes Knowledge Test and a skills test in a vehicle with air brakes. If you don’t, your CDL will carry an L or Z restriction prohibiting you from operating full air brake systems. Our site offers dedicated Massachusetts Air Brakes Practice Tests to help you eliminate that restriction.
