The Cornhusker State. From Omaha and Lincoln to Grand Island, Kearney, Norfolk, and Scottsbluff, there are great opportunities for CDL holders who add the Passenger "P" Endorsement to their license. You’ll likely find jobs in the state’s college towns, on airport routes, charter trips, or church outings, or in school activity travel, senior transportation, paratransit, and rural passenger service. Nebraska depends on qualified drivers to move people safely, and "safely" is the key term here. If you have your commercial driver license (CDL) and plan to drive a commercial motor vehicle designed to transport 16 or more people, including yourself, you’ll need a Passenger "P" endorsement. One of the requirements for obtaining the P endorsement is passing the Nebraska DMV Passenger Transport Test, which covers material found in the general safe-driving and passenger-transport sections of the state CDL manual. This exam requires a minimum passing score, and test-takers, even the most prepared, have reported that the wording can be tricky. Our content experts have crafted interactive, AI-powered Nebraska DMV CDL Passenger Endorsement Practice Tests that mirror the wording used in the official exam. Omitted from the preparatory materials is any fluff that doesn’t help you pass, and our Challenge Bank™ of questions remembers any you miss and recycles them into your queue until you answer correctly. Once you have a handle on this practice test, try another: https://driving-tests.org/nebraska/ne-cdl-passenger-vehicles-practice-test/.
You’ll also need to pass a Skills Test in a representative passenger vehicle. This means that if you already passed a Skills Test for your CDL but didn’t take it in a passenger vehicle, you’ll have to take it again. Additionally, depending on the vehicle you plan to drive, you may also need to pass the separate Air Brakes Knowledge Test. Simply put, if your vehicle has air brakes and you don’t have that qualification, you’re breaking the law. We have practice tests to guide you through that process as well. Passenger safety is paramount and you are expected to know how to inspect the service brakes, parking brake, steering mechanism, lights, reflectors, tires, horn, windshield wipers, mirrors, wheels, rims, coupling devices, and emergency equipment. You must also inspect the inside of the bus, where aisles and stairwells must be clear, handholds and railings must be secure, signaling devices must work, seats must be safely fastened, and emergency exits must be marked, accessible, and ready for use. There is a specific protocol in place for both pre-trip and post-shift inspections that is covered in our preparatory materials.
