Free NH CDL Double/Triple Trailers Practice Test 2025

  • Perfect for first-time and renewal CDL/CLP applicants, and those adding endorsements.

To be legally allowed to pull multiple trailers, you must meet a set of requirements, including passing several tests. You must obtain a Class A CDL to drive combination vehicles. To do this, you must pass the General Knowledge test and the Combination knowledge test. You should also pass the Air Brakes knowledge test because nearly all multi-trailer truck configurations have air brakes. You must also pass a skills test in a combination vehicle with air brakes.

To drive combination vehicles with double trailers, you must also obtain a Double/Triple (T) endorsement on your Class A CDL. (Triple trailers are prohibited in New Hampshire.) To get this endorsement, you must pass the Double/Triple knowledge test. This test covers such topics as safe handling, air brakes on doubles and triples, coupling and uncoupling, emergency situations, and state and federal regulations on doubles and triples. (No special skills test is required for this endorsement.)

All these knowledge tests are based on the official New Hampshire CDL manual (New Hampshire CDL Handbook 2025). The Double/Triple knowledge test is based on Chapter 7: Doubles and Triples.

We offer a set of tools to complement the official manual with intensive training and ensure you pass the Double/Triple knowledge test on your first try. (We guarantee it!) This practice test is the first of our five New Hampshire Doubles and Triples Endorsement Practice Tests. It’s up to date as of November 2025 and based on the official CDL manual, just like the official Double/Triple knowledge test. The 20 multiple-choice practice questions and answers on this practice test address such topics as air lines, converter dollies, coupling, following distance, rearward amplification, and rollovers.

If you get stuck on a question, you can ask our AI Assistant to rephrase the question, give you a hint, or answer any of your questions about commercial driving. If you still miss the question, the AI assistant will immediately give you the correct answer and an explanation.

Demand for drivers qualified to pull doubles has been high. In much of the country (New Hampshire included), the logistics sector makes great use of double-trailer vehicles. In New Hampshire, LTL (Less-Than-Truckload) carriers in particular, such as Old Dominion Freight Line and XPO Logistics, use double trailers to transport LTL shipments between distribution hubs.

The retail and E-commerce sector also uses double trailers for bulk deliveries from distribution centers to stores and supermarkets. Facilities doing this in New Hampshire include the Amazon Delivery Network and Walmart Distribution Centers.
