- Perfect for first-time and renewal CDL/CLP applicants, and those adding endorsements
- Based on 2025 NH commercial driver's license manual
- Triple-checked for accuracy
- Updated for August 2025
Want to boost your earning potential and open the door to more CDL job opportunities? Adding a T Endorsement to your Class A CDL is a smart move! Once you’ve obtained a CLP or Class A CDL, you’re eligible to pursue a T Endorsement, which allows you to operate double or triple trailer combinations.
So, how do you earn the T Endorsement? You’ll need to pass the New Hampshire’s CDL Doubles and Triples Knowledge Test, with information based on the Granite State’s most recent CDL Manual. The official test consists of 20 multiple-choice questions, and you must correctly answer at least 16 (80%) to pass. If you fail, the New Hampshire DMV requires a minimum one-business-day waiting period before retesting. Additional fees may apply after multiple attempts.
Our free New Hampshire CDL Doubles and Triples Knowledge Practice Tests go far beyond basic study guides. Designed to closely mirror the official exam format, these tests offer real-time feedback, hints, and AI-powered learning tools, all aimed at improving retention and helping you pass on your first try. Practice questions cover essential topics like proper coupling and uncoupling procedures, avoiding jackknifing and rollovers, controlling the “crack-the-whip” effect, managing longer following distances, and conducting inspections.
Earning your T Endorsement is a game-changer as it significantly enhances the value of your CDL, unlocking higher-paying positions and more diverse job opportunities. With major employers like FedEx Freight, YRC Freight, and Old Dominion operating in New Hampshire and busy roadways like I‑93, I‑89, and I‑95 running through the state, the need for qualified drivers with doubles/triples endorsements is high.
Because most double and triple trailer combinations are equipped with air brakes, you’ll need to pass the Air Brakes Knowledge Test to legally operate them. Successfully passing both the knowledge and skills tests in an air brake-equipped vehicle removes the “L” or “Z” restriction from your CDL.
In addition to the T Endorsement, New Hampshire drivers can pursue other valuable endorsements, including N (tank vehicles), H (hazardous materials), X (tanker + hazmat combo), P (passenger vehicles, and S (school buses), Each endorsement requires its own written knowledge test, and we’ve got New Hampshire-specific practice tests to help you prepare for every one.
This practice test is Test Two in our New Hampshire Doubles and Triples series. Be sure to try Test One and explore our full collection of CDL practice tools, all designed to help you pass on your first attempt!
