New Hampshire CDL Class A Practice Test 2025

  • Perfect for first-time and renewal CDL/CLP applicants, and those adding endorsements.

To get a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) in New Hampshire, you must meet several requirements and complete the licensing process. The minimum age required to legally operate commercial vehicles is 18, but you must drive within the state until you turn 21. Your first objective in the licensing process is to get a Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP). This permit is granted after completing a vision test, submitting identification documents, paying the licensing fees, and scoring 80% or higher on the official general knowledge test.

You must also pass the official combination vehicles knowledge exam. While not mandatory, it’s highly recommended to pass the official air brakes knowledge test and a skills test in a vehicle with air brakes. Without completing this step, your CDL will have an L restriction, which prohibits you from operating commercial vehicles equipped with air brakes. All applicants must complete Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) before they can schedule and take the CDL skills tests. ELDT is a federal requirement mandated by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) for all US states and the District of Columbia.

As you begin your learning phase, you should read the official New Hampshire Commercial Driver’s License Manual (New Hampshire CDL Handbook 2025) multiple times. This resource should not be missing from your toolkit, but there are other options that make studying more efficient. Our New Hampshire CDL Class A Practice Test closely reflects the content and format of the official written knowledge test, giving you a clear idea of what to expect on exam day. It consists of 93 multiple-choice questions and includes several features you can use to customize your testing experience.

Beginners unfamiliar with commercial driving theory can use this tool for educational purposes. We recommend ignoring your score on your first few attempts. Instead, you should focus on the detailed explanations to understand the reasoning behind each correct answer. Note this feedback in a notebook or notebook app and review the material to reinforce your knowledge.

Start today and train with our New Hampshire CDL Class A Practice Test for several weeks. Your knowledge can only be improved gradually, so you shouldn’t expect overnight results. Finish each session at your own pace, use the available features to boost your learning potential, and ace the official written knowledge exam on your first attempt.
