New York CDL School Bus "S" Endorsement Knowledge Practice Test Two
Driving a school bus in the Empire State is no small task, especially in urban environments like the Big Apple. The state requires prospective school bus drivers to demonstrate a high level of safety knowledge and expertise before being permitted to transport students. To be eligible to transport students, Commercial Driver License (CDL) holders must obtain both the School Bus "S" endorsement and the Passenger "P" endorsement. These endorsements require passing knowledge examinations and completing a skills test in a school bus. The New York CDL School Bus "S" Knowledge Exam requires a minimum passing score of 80% and, to achieve that, a deep conceptual understanding of the material. This level of understanding doesn’t come from memorizing outdated study guides or working with static pdfs. Our interactive New York CDL School Bus "S" Endorsement Knowledge Practice Tests feature AI-powered responses to each question so you can learn as you go instead of being bombarded with corrections at the end. Our state-of-the-art Challenge Bank™ remembers missed questions and queues them again until mastered. Our content experts have focused on exactly what you’ll need to pass the official exam, eliminating the fluff you would be inundated with elsewhere. At the conclusion of each practice session, you’ll receive a review highlighting any topics that need further study. In short, our practice tests speed your learning process, increase overall retention, and help ensure you pass your official exam on the first attempt. The official exam focuses on procedures and safety concepts. Loading and unloading are especially critical because the areas surrounding the bus create blind spots where children may not be easily visible. (Statistically, these are the areas where most injuries occur.) You must demonstrate a clear understanding of mirror use, constant scanning of the roadway and sidewalks, and control of the environment around the bus. Other topics include controlled stops, railroad crossing procedures, emergency decision making, and evacuation responsibilities. All of these topics and more are covered on our practice tests!
Because most large school buses are equipped with air brake systems, you may also want to prepare for the Air Brakes Knowledge Test: https://driving-tests.org/new-york/ny-cdl-air-brake-practice-test/.
