The Beaver State! If you are interested in adding the authorization to operate school buses to your CDL, you happen to be on the best website to prepare you. Our Oregon CDL School Bus "S" Endorsement Knowledge Practice Tests go well beyond the outdated study guides and static pdfs you’ll find elsewhere.
Before you are allowed to transport a single student, you must earn both the School Bus "S" endorsement and the Passenger "P" endorsement by passing the required knowledge exam for each. You’ll also need to complete a skills test in a representative school bus. The official Oregon CDL School Bus Endorsement Knowledge Tests are filled with topics and questions that require a deep conceptual understanding of the material. Our interactive AI-powered practice tests are crafted by content experts who have removed unnecessary fluff and focused on precisely the information upon which you’ll likely be tested, saving you valuable time and mental bandwidth. Our tests feature a Challenge Bank™ of questions that remembers any you miss so you can face them again until mastered. Our tests also include an end-of-session review that highlights any topics you need to continue studying. In short, we have prepared an Oregon-specific series of practice tests to ensure you pass your official exam on the first attempt. Once you’ve aced this one, try another: https://driving-tests.org/oregon/or-cdl-school-bus-practice-test/.
The official exam places a heavy emphasis on student safety, most importantly, loading and unloading. You are expected to demonstrate constant awareness through mirror use, blind-spot management, and tracking of students as they approach, board, ride, and exit. The exam also evaluates your ability to manage controlled stops, secure the bus properly, and prevent injuries that could occur if students become caught in doors or handrails.
You must understand how to handle railroad crossings, emergency evacuations, and student behavior inside the bus. You are also responsible for post-trip inspections that ensure the vehicle is secure and damage-free, and that no student remains on board. Our practice tests cover all of this and follow the structure and wording of the official exam.
As you continue preparing, it is important to also prepare for the Passenger "P" Endorsement. Check out our practice tests for that as well: https://driving-tests.org/oregon/or-cdl-passenger-vehicles-practice-test/. Air brakes are also relied upon for most full-size school buses. To be allowed to operate them, you must pass the CDL Air Brakes Knowledge Test (as well as a skills test in a vehicle with air brakes). We have your back there as well: https://driving-tests.org/oregon/or-cdl-air-brake-practice-test/.
