- Perfect for first-time and renewal CDL/CLP applicants, and those adding endorsements
- Based on 2025 PA commercial driver's license manual
- Triple-checked for accuracy
- Updated for September 2025
Get ready to roll through Pennsylvania with more earning potential! If you already hold a Class A CDL and you’re looking to drive double or triple trailer combinations, you’ll need to pass the Pennsylvania Doubles/Triples Knowledge Test to earn your T Endorsement. This endorsement expands your driving privileges and dramatically increases your marketability for higher-paying freight jobs. Pennsylvania is a major corridor for freight transport, with trucking routes like I‑76 (Pennsylvania Turnpike), I‑80, I‑81, and I‑95, and hubs in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Harrisburg, Allentown, and Erie. Major carriers such as Old Dominion Freight Line, FedEx Ground, and XPO Logistics frequently seek Pennsylvania drivers with T Endorsements. This is certainly an endorsement you want on your CDL!
The official test is administered by the Pennsylvania DOT and includes 20 multiple-choice questions. You must correctly answer at least 16 questions (80%) to pass. If you fail, the DOT requires a minimum one-business-day waiting period before you can retest, and additional fees may apply after multiple attempts.
Our free Pennsylvania CDL Doubles/Triples Knowledge Practice Tests are designed to mirror the exact format used by DOT, with real-time feedback, hints to help you along the way, and AI-driven tools to speed your progress. Our system is far more effective than the generic study guides you might find online elsewhere.
All practice questions are derived from the most recent Pennsylvania CDL Manual and cover test topics such as coupling and uncoupling procedures for doubles and triples, preventing jackknifing, rollovers, and the “crack-the-whip” effect, maintaining safe following distances, proper braking techniques in long combination vehicles, and inspection checklists.
Because most double and triple trailer rigs rely on air brakes, you must pass the Air Brakes Knowledge Test. You simply can not drive doubles/triples without it. Passing the test removes the “L” or “Z” restriction from your CDL. Our platform offers practice tests for air brakes as well as for other Pennsylvania-specific endorsements like N (Tank Vehicles), H (Hazardous Materials), X (Tank/Hazmat Combo), P (Passenger Vehicles), and S (School Buses). Each one adds more marketability to your CDL.
This is just Practice Test 2! Make sure to check out the other practice test in our Pennsylvania-specific doubles/triples series. Explore all our Pennsylvania CDL Practice Tests to ensure success on every endorsement exam and air brake restriction removal on your first attempt!
