Want to unlock more lucrative driving opportunities? Earning your Doubles/Triples (T) endorsement is a smart way to make that happen. With this endorsement, you can legally transport doubles and triples (triples, where allowed). Within South Dakota alone, there are major freight routes, including I-29 and I-90, that cover busy areas like Rapid City, Sioux Falls, and Brookings. A world of new opportunities and potentially higher-paying jobs awaits once you hold a T endorsement.
In order to add the T Endorsement to your Class A CDL, you’ll need to pass the official South Dakota Doubles and Triples Knowledge Test. The official South Dakota Doubles and Triples Knowledge Test includes 20 multiple-choice questions. You must answer at least 16 correctly (80%) to pass. If you don’t, the South Dakota DMV requires you to wait at least one business day before retesting. After three failed attempts, additional fees will apply.
Our Free South Dakota CDL Doubles and Triples Knowledge Practice Tests are tailored to simulate the official test. They also provide instant feedback, hints to help you along the way, and AI-powered learning tools that reinforce learning. We have two in this category alone, not to mention lots of other helpful practice tests we’ll cover in a moment.
All questions in this practice test are based on the latest South Dakota CDL Manual. Topics include avoiding the “crack-the-whip” effect, coupling and uncoupling techniques, preventing jackknifing and rollovers, safe braking and following distances, and conducting inspections.
Adding the T Endorsement to your license can lead to higher-paying jobs. The reason you are going to the trouble of adding this endorsement isn’t for bragging rights; it’s to make more money. Companies like Ruan Transportation, CRST, and TMC Transportation frequently seek drivers with this specialized endorsement.
To further boost your earning potential and employability, consider these other South Dakota CDL endorsements: N (Tank Vehicles), H (Hazardous Materials), X (Combination of Tank + Hazmat), P (Passenger), and S (School Bus). We have South Dakota-specific practice tests for all of these!
Most double and triple trailers use air brakes, so you must also pass the Air Brakes Knowledge Test and take your skills test in a vehicle equipped with air brakes to avoid the “L” or “Z” restriction on your license. We’ve got you covered there as well!
