Special Requirements CDL General Knowledge Test 2025

  • Perfect for first-time and renewal CDL/CLP applicants, and those adding endorsements
You'll be required to pass the Special Requirements test in order to obtain your CLP (Commercial Learner's Permit) or CDL (Commercial Driver's License) in Texas. Other states don't have this requirement, so it's Texas-specific. You'll need to pass the Special Requirements exam before you are allowed to proceed with other exams at the TX DMV. The Special Requirements Test is based on Section 14 of the Texas Commercial Motor Vehicle Handbook. That section is filled with technical details that you'll need to remember. Our second 25-question practice test thoroughly covers Section 14 to make sure you are fully prepared.
