- Perfect for first-time and renewal CDL/CLP applicants, and those adding endorsements
- Based on 2025 TX commercial driver's license manual
- Triple-checked for accuracy
- Updated for August 2025
Everything’s bigger in Texas, including the demand for CDL drivers who hold the Doubles/Triples (T) Endorsement. With major roadways like I‑10, I‑35, and I‑20 running through the Lone Star State, companies like UPS Freight, FedEx Ground, and XPO Logistics regularly hire Texas drivers certified to pull double trailers. In large cities like Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, and Lubbock, this endorsement opens doors to higher-paying opportunities for CDL drivers.
To legally operate double and triple trailers, you must pass the Doubles/Triples Endorsement Test, which adds the T Endorsement to your Class A CDL. Our Free Texas CDL Doubles/Triples Endorsement Practice Tests are designed to mirror the official Texas Department of Public Safety (DMV) exam. With real-time feedback, hints within the system, and AI-based tools, our practice materials improve retention and speed learning far beyond what traditional study guides found elsewhere can offer.
The official Texas T Endorsement Exam consists of 20 multiple-choice questions. To pass, you must answer at least 16 questions (80%) correctly. If you fail, the Texas DMV requires a minimum one-business-day waiting period before you may retest. After three failed attempts, an additional testing fee will apply. Why not avoid these potential delays and added fees by using our free practice tests?
Our practice test questions are based on the most recentTexas CDL Manual and emphasize coupling and uncoupling of multiple trailers, avoiding jackknifing and rollovers, controlling the “crack-the-whip” effect, steering and braking techniques for longer vehicle combinations, extended following distance, and inspections.
Because most double/triple trailers are equipped with air brakes, you’ll also need to pass the Texas CDL Air Brakes Knowledge Test. Passing this test removes the “L” or “Z” restriction from your license, which is essential if you plan to operate combination vehicles. You guessed it! We’ve got Texas Air Brakes Practice Tests too!
Texas also offers endorsements for Tank Vehicles (N), Hazardous Materials (H), the X Combo (N + H) Endorsement, Passenger (P), and School Bus (S). Each endorsement adds more value to your CDL, and ourTexas-specific practice tests guide you to passing these knowledge tests.
This Practice Test is one of two in our current Texas CDL Doubles and Triples series. Try our complete lineup of knowledge, endorsement, and air brake practice exams. All are specifically designed to meet Texas DMV requirements and ensure first-time success.
