- Perfect for first-time and renewal CDL/CLP applicants, and those adding endorsements
- Based on 2025 UT commercial driver's license manual
- Triple-checked for accuracy
- Updated for September 2025
The Beehive State offers high earning potential for commercial drivers with a Doubles/Triples (T) Endorsement. Utah’s major freight roadways like I‑15, I‑70, and I‑80 make this endorsement especially valuable. Whether you’re hauling through Salt Lake City, Ogden, or St. George, having the T Endorsement on your Class A CDL opens doors to better-paying routes and more specialized driving opportunities. In short, you’ll gain access to jobs that drivers without the endorsement simply can’t legally accept. Carriers like FedEx Ground, Old Dominion, and XPO Logistics often seek out Utah drivers certified to haul double and triple trailers.
To legally operate doubles and triples, you must pass the Utah CDL Doubles and Triples Knowledge Test, which adds the T Endorsement to your license. Our Free Utah CDL Doubles and Triples Knowledge Practice Tests are designed to simulate the official format used by the Utah DMV. With AI-powered learning tools, real-time feedback, and hints all along the way, you can study more efficiently. Our approach is scientifically proven to prepare you faster and ensure more retention of the tested material.
The official Utah T Endorsement Test consists of 20 multiple-choice questions, and you must correctly answer at least 16 (80%) to pass. If you fail, the Utah DMV requires a minimum one-business-day waiting period before retesting. After three failed attempts, you’ll be charged a retake fee. With our practice tests and preparatory materials, this is avoided!
All our questions are based on the Utah CDL Manual, especially Section 7, and cover coupling and uncoupling multiple trailers, preventing jackknifing and rollovers, avoiding the “crack-the-whip” effect, proper braking and following distance techniques, and full trailer inspection and safety protocols.
In Utah, you can further boost your commercial qualifications with endorsements for Tank Vehicles (N), Hazardous Materials (H), the combination X (N + H), Passenger Vehicles (P), and School Buses (S). We offer Utah-specific practice tests for all these endorsements as well.
Because most double and triple trailer combinations are equipped with air brakes, you’ll also need to pass the Air Brakes Knowledge Test to avoid an “L” or “Z” restriction on your license. We’ve got Utah Air Brake practice tests to walk you through that process, too!
This is Test 2 of our Utah CDL Doubles and Triples practice series. Be sure to complete Test 1 and explore our full suite of Utah-specific endorsement and air brake prep tools.
