Virginia CDL Combination Vehicles Practice Test Three
Virginia is for lovers and Combination Vehicle drivers! Seriously, with so much commerce in and out of its hubs, including the northern Virginia and DC areas, Virginia has too many opportunities to ignore. To legally operate combination vehicles, you must pass the Combination Vehicles Knowledge Test, one of several steps required to earn your Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). This license authorizes you to drive combination vehicles with a Gross Combination Weight Rating (GCWR) of 26,001 lbs. or more, where the towed unit exceeds 10,000 lbs. GVWR. Additional requirements include completing Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) through an FMCSA-approved provider, passing the CDL General Knowledge Test, obtaining your Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP) and holding it for a minimum of 14 days, and then taking the behind-the-wheel Skills Test in a combination vehicle. That sounds like a lot, to be sure, but our experts have put together incredible practice tests and guides to help you each step of the way!
The Combination Vehicles Knowledge Test includes 20 multiple-choice questions, and you must correctly answer at least 16 (80%) to pass. If you fail, you’ll need to wait at least one business day before retesting, and an additional testing fee will apply. That won’t be a concern, thanks to our CDL Combination Vehicles Practice Tests designed specifically for the Commonwealth of Virginia!
Our Free Virginia CDL Combination Practice Tests are designed to mirror the official DMV exam and provide instant feedback, hints, and AI-driven tools to speed learning and boost retention. We’ve also removed any unnecessary fluff from our materials, focusing on exactly what is needed to pass the test! The Virginia test covers preventing trailer skids and jackknifing, correct coupling and uncoupling procedures, air-brake operation specific to combination vehicles, inspection requirements, and safe-driving techniques. Virginia’s major industries, including logistics, agriculture, construction, and manufacturing, thrive thanks to an incredible infrastructure of roadways like I-81, I-95, I-64, and I-66. From the busy ports of Hampton Roads to the hills of the Shenandoah Valley, combination-vehicle drivers keep the Commonwealth thriving and the need for licensed commercial drivers consistently high.
Nearly all combination vehicles in Virginia use air brakes, and our Air Brakes Practice Tests can help you pass that official knowledge test as well. You may also consider adding (T) Doubles/Triples, (N) Tank Vehicles, or (H) Hazardous Materials endorsements to your CDL. We provide practice tests for these endorsements as well.
