Alaska CDL Class A Practice Test 2025

  • Perfect for first-time and renewal CDL/CLP applicants, and those adding endorsements.

To get a Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP) in Alaska, you must pass a vision test, submit identification documents, and achieve a score of 80% or higher on the 50-question general knowledge exam. To obtain a Class A CDL, you must also take the combination and air brakes knowledge exams (because virtually all modern tractor-trailers have air brakes). Like most states, Alaska requires aspiring commercial drivers to pass a DOT medical examination. After obtaining a CLP, you must hold it for at least 14 days before taking the CDL skills test.

FMCSA mandates Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) for all CDL Class A applicants in all US states, including Alaska. This training includes both theory and behind-the-wheel training and must be delivered by providers listed in the Training Provider Registry (TPR). Our Alaska CDL Class A Practice Test is designed to reflect the content and format of the official written knowledge tests. It has 95 multiple-choice questions based on the Alaska Commercial Driver License Manual, an official resource published by the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).

Customize your testing experience with the features available in the test settings menu. This menu can be accessed by clicking the three dots in the top-right corner of the page. The voice-over function reads each question and answer choice aloud using an artificial voice. It is particularly useful for students with auditory memory, but you can also use it in crowded environments to eliminate distractions and maintain focus. There’s no timer on this practice test, so you can answer each question at your own pace. Rushing will cause you to make avoidable mistakes that may cost you a passing score on the official knowledge exams.

Accuracy is essential when studying commercial driving theory. Our practice test is up to date as of November 2025, and it includes the latest updates brought by DMV rules or state law. However, we recommend checking the official AK DMV website for the most up-to-date information.

You cannot become a commercial driver overnight. This process takes time, effort, and consistent practice. Use our Alaska CDL Class A Practice Test regularly and follow a daily study routine to boost your journey into one of the most respected careers in the state.
