Perfect for first-time and renewal CDL/CLP applicants, and those adding endorsements. You must obtain a Class A CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) to drive combination vehicles, such as semi-trucks or tractor-trailers. The requirements for this license include passing the official general knowledge exam, the official combination vehicles knowledge test, and the CDL skills test in a combination vehicle. During the licensing process, you must also complete Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT), pass a vision exam, and undergo a medical examination. (However, if you plan to engage in excepted commerce, you are not required to pass the medical examination.)
If your dream is to pull trailers in a Peterbilt across Arizona, you must study and master commercial driving theory. The official Commercial Driver License Manual (Arizona CDL Handbook 2025) describes this subject in detail. It also includes a section dedicated to combination vehicles (Section 6). You should read this manual multiple times during your learning phase. When you’re ready, you can use our practice tests to evaluate your knowledge.
This Arizona CDL Combination Vehicles Practice Test is one of several we offer. All 25 questions have multiple answer choices, but only one is correct. After each question, you will receive immediate feedback with a detailed explanation of the correct answer. Use this feature to your advantage and develop a better understanding of driving combination vehicles.
To reflect the latest updates brought by MVD rules or state law, we have recently updated this practice test for December 2025. You will always use the latest version. For the most up-to-date information, you should check the official MVD website.
Your learning phase should not be rushed or skipped. There’s plenty of time for you to log thousands of hours behind the wheel of a semi-truck. But the learning process comes first, and this is where you build the foundation for your driving skills. You can also check out our Free Arizona CDL Permit Practice Test, specifically designed to prepare you for the official general knowledge exam.
All of our practice tests are available online, 24/7. Train as often as your schedule allows and stay consistent in your studies. Within a few weeks, you’ll be ready to ace your theory exams on your first attempt.
