Arizona CDL Class A Practice Test 2025

  • Perfect for first-time and renewal CDL/CLP applicants, and those adding endorsements
  • Based on 2025 AZ commercial driver's license manual
  • Triple-checked for accuracy
  • Updated for August 2025

Before applying for a Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP), aspiring commercial drivers must meet several requirements. In Arizona, you must pass a vision test, pay the licensing fees, and provide identification documents. You must pass a DOT physical exam if you plan to operate in non-excepted commerce. Applicants for a Class A CDL must achieve a passing score of 80% or higher on both the official general knowledge exam and the combination vehicles knowledge exam. Because most modern semi-trucks and tractor-trailers are equipped with air brakes, you should also take the official air brakes knowledge exam to be qualified to drive them.

The FMCSA mandates Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) for all aspiring commercial drivers in the United States. To take the CDL skills test, you must first complete ELDT and hold a CLP for at least 14 days. If the licensing process overwhelms you, we recommend adopting a systematic approach. Start by studying the official Arizona Commercial Driver License Manual (Arizona CDL Handbook 2025). This resource describes the various aspects of commercial driving theory in detail, including the air brake system, safe driving practices, and pre-trip inspections. When you’re ready, use our practice tests to evaluate your knowledge.

Our Arizona CDL Class A Practice Test has 93 multiple-choice questions based on this manual. Complete each training session at your own pace without being pressured by a timer. Avoid rushing through the questions and pay attention to the detailed explanation provided after selecting an answer. Learn from your mistakes as soon as they occur and note this feedback in a notebook or notebook app.

Studying for your dream career doesn’t have to be a chore. Although commercial driving theory is not rocket science, some of its complex topics may confuse those who are unfamiliar with this subject. Our automated assistant, “Officer Frank,” can provide personalized answers to your individual questions. At your request, this AI coach will also give you hints and real-life examples.

Start today and dedicate the following weeks to your learning phase. Master commercial driving theory with the help of our practice test and ace the official written knowledge exam on your first attempt.
