A Passenger (“P”) endorsement is required on an Arkansas CDL to operate a vehicle that can carry 16 or more people, including the driver. Applicants must pass both a written and a road skills test in a passenger-carrying vehicle to obtain this endorsement on their CDL. The written portion of the test is divided into four sections: Driving Safely, Transporting Passengers Safely, Vehicle Inspection, and Basic Vehicle Control Skills. There are a total of 20 questions on the test. Successful applicants must answer 16 of the 20 questions (80%) correctly to receive a passing score.
