If you’re in Arkansas, this free CDL school bus practice test is for you!
Thousands of students in Arkansas rely on school buses for daily transportation to and from school, covering rural, suburban, and urban routes across the state. All school buses are subject to strict safety inspections and must comply with both state and federal safety standards. Their drivers are professionally trained for this job, which requires them to obtain a School Buses (S) endorsement on their Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
If you want to pursue a career as a school bus driver, you’ll have to pass a specialized written test and a skills test in a school bus. Additionally, you may also need a Passenger Vehicles (P) endorsement and the removal of the air brakes restriction from your CDL if the school bus you intend to drive carries 16 or more occupants (including yourself) and is equipped with air brakes. These can be obtained by passing their respective knowledge tests, so be prepared for a long learning journey.
The responsibility of transporting children shouldn’t be taken lightly, and that’s why the Arkansas State Police only issues the “S” endorsement to aspiring drivers who are truly committed to mastering this subject.
Chances are you’re already familiar with the official 2025 CDL manual (https://driving-tests.org/arkansas/ar-cdl-handbook/. While it is a great resource on its own, it might not be enough to pass the official knowledge test on your first attempt. There are various online tools you can use to enhance your learning process, including our practice tests.
They consist of 20 questions and closely reflect the actual written exam. Updated for October, 2025, our tests have no time limit, taking away the pressure of a countdown.
