CT CDL School Bus Practice Test 2 2025
5 min
Drivers safeguard students as they travel to and from school each day. This critical need is precisely why federal regulations require every bus driver applicant to pass the CDL Connecticut DMV School Bus “S” Endorsement Knowledge Test (as well as a skills exam conducted in a school bus). Connecticut also requires a background check and registration through the Department of Education’s AIM system. Local districts require additional safety training, onboarding sessions, or ride-along evaluations before new drivers can transport students. Although this article focuses on the written Knowledge Test, drivers must also pass the Passenger “P” Endorsement Test before they may transport students. More information on that is included below.
The multiple-choice Knowledge Test focuses on the safe loading and unloading of students. Safety data shows that the area surrounding the bus (“danger zones”) poses the greatest danger to children. As such, mastery of mirror use is essential for complete visibility and mitigating blind-spot risks. Students can easily become caught on handrails while boarding or exiting, and drivers must watch for this. These are just some of the tested materials, but don’t worry! Our Connecticut CDL School Bus “S” Endorsement Knowledge Practice Tests help ensure you are fully prepared.
Based on the official CT CDL HandbookHandbook‑based (2025) + exam‑taker feedback
Drivers must also perform controlled stopping, proper securing of the vehicle, management of student behavior, appropriate emergency responses, and state-specific railroad-crossing procedures. They must also be prepared to perform evacuations, address seasonal hazards, and complete post-trip inspections that include checking for vandalism and ensuring no child remains inside. Also, until a driver passes the skills test, they may only operate an empty bus and must practice under the supervision of a fully licensed driver.
Our Connecticut CDL School Bus “S” Endorsement Practice Tests mirror the format of the official exam. Our experts eliminate guesswork by filtering out unnecessary content and focusing on the material needed for the official test. Our practice tests feature an interactive CDL manual, AI-driven responses and explanations, and a Challenge Bank that ensures missed questions reappear until you have fully mastered them. The results page reinforces areas needing additional focus. All of these features work hand-in-hand to help ensure you pass your official test on the first attempt.
