Delaware CDL Class B Practice Test 2025

  • Perfect for first-time and renewal CDL/CLP applicants, and those adding endorsements
  • Based on 2025 DE commercial driver's license manual
  • Triple-checked for accuracy
  • Updated for September 2025

In Delaware, anyone can become a commercial driver as long as they meet the basic requirements. You must be 18 to drive within the state (intrastate) and 21 to drive across state lines (interstate), have a valid Delaware driver’s license, and be physically fit for this job. The first step in the licensing process involves submitting identification documents, paying the licensing fees, and passing a vision screening and a medical exam.

To obtain a Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP), applicants must pass a 50-question general knowledge exam. This test is based on the State of Delaware Commercial Driver License Manual (Delaware CDL Handbook 2025), an official resource published by the DMV.

Initially, your CDL will have an L restriction, which prohibits you from driving trucks equipped with air brakes. To remove this restriction, you must pass the official air brakes knowledge exam and a skills test in a vehicle with air brakes. A minimum score of 80% is required to pass each of these knowledge tests. After obtaining your CLP, you must complete Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) from a provider listed in FMCSA’s Training Provider Registry.

Our Delaware CDL Class B Practice Test is an intuitive tool designed to make you a better driver. Use it regularly throughout your learning phase to strengthen your knowledge and prepare for your dream career. All 50 questions have multiple answer choices, but only one is correct. Please read every question twice and think before you select an answer. For your convenience, we have omitted any timer from this practice test, allowing you to finish each session at your own pace.

The answer popularity feature can be found in the test settings menu. Once activated, it will show the percentage of students who chose each answer, helping you spot questions where misconceptions are common. You can take advantage of the detailed explanation provided to understand the reasoning behind the correct answer.
