DE CDL Combination Vehicles Practice Test 2 2025

  • Perfect for first-time and renewal CDL/CLP applicants, and those adding endorsements.

In Delaware, the DMV oversees the licensing process and requires all aspiring commercial drivers to pass several exams. To drive combination vehicles, you must obtain a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). After providing identification documents, paying the licensing fees, and passing a vision screening, you will go to a DMV location to take the official general knowledge exam. Consisting of 50 multiple-choice questions, this test will evaluate your understanding of general commercial driving theory. Our Free Delaware CDL Permit Practice Test can help you achieve a passing score on your first attempt. Use this intuitive tool throughout your learning phase and watch your confidence grow with every session.

Passing the official general knowledge test will grant you a Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP), which you must hold for at least 14 days. During this time, all applicants must complete Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) from a provider listed in FMCSA’s Training Provider Registry (TPR). This training is mandatory for all 50 U.S. states, including Delaware. It improves safety on the road and ensures that every new driver meets a minimum national standard of knowledge and skills. After at least 14 days have passed and you have completed ELDT, you can schedule and take your CDL skills tests. Because you are applying for a Class A CDL, you must take the skills test in a tractor-trailer or another combination vehicle.

This Delaware CDL Combination Vehicles Practice Test is based on the State of Delaware Commercial Driver License Manual (Delaware CDL Handbook 2025), specifically on Section 6 (Combination Vehicles). Its purpose is to help you pass the official 20-question Combination Vehicles knowledge test on your first try. It is up to date as of November 2025 to reflect the latest updates brought by DMV rules or state law. You can access it on any device that supports a browser. A stable internet connection is required at all times, since this practice test is available exclusively online.

Consistency is key to mastering any subject. When it comes to commercial driving theory, your knowledge can only be improved gradually. Dedicate the following weeks to your learning phase and train with our practice tests daily. Within a few weeks, you’ll be ready to take and pass your theory exams.
