Aspiring commercial drivers must perform a pre-trip inspection as part of the skills test for a CDL (Commercial Driver’s License). Because the inspection is evaluated before any driving occurs, many students are unaware of its importance. Candidates must demonstrate that they can perform the pre-trip inspection correctly and check all essential vehicle components. Some of the items inspected are brakes, wipers, wheels, lights, emergency equipment, and turn signals. The official Commercial Driver’s Study Guide (Georgia CDL Handbook 2026) includes more information on this subject. You should read Section 11 (Vehicle Inspection) multiple times during your learning phase.
Our Georgia CDL Pre-Trip Inspection Practice Tests are designed to help you correctly perform the vehicle inspection on exam day and at the start of your shifts. You’re about to train with the second practice test in this series, which includes questions similar to those you will encounter on the official General Knowledge Exam. We provide a detailed explanation for every answer. This feedback can help you learn from your mistakes as soon as they occur, so you won’t have to wait until the test ends to know what went wrong. We recommend noting this feedback in a notebook or notebook app.

All of our practice tests are available online. You can access them anytime from a compatible device connected to the internet. With unlimited attempts, you can repeat the test as often as needed. (To boost your learning potential and master general commercial driving theory, you should use our Free Georgia CDL Permit Practice Test.)
Consistent practice is key to passing your theory exams. Whether you’re a first-time learner or reviewing your knowledge before exam day, it is important to avoid rushing your training. Many of our practice tests are untimed, including this one. Read every question twice and carefully consider each answer choice before selecting the one you believe is right.
You can’t afford to make avoidable mistakes on the official General Knowledge exam, which requires a minimum score of 80% to pass. With our practice tests, you’ll also familiarize yourself with the official testing experience. As you practice more, your knowledge and confidence will naturally improve.
We know what it takes to pass. And we’ve got the proof.
