ID CDL Pre-Trip Inspection Practice Test 2026
Original questions by our team Based on 2026 ID CDL Handbook
Earning your Idaho CDL requires successfully passing the Idaho CDL General Knowledge Exam as well as the CDL Pre-Trip Inspection Test. The Idaho CDL General Knowledge Exam includes questions specific to pre-trip inspection materials. Our Idaho CDL Pre-Trip Inspection Practice Tests are specifically designed to cover all necessary topics. Without passing this knowledge exam, you will not even be able to obtain a Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP), much less the CDL necessary for independent commercial driving. Additionally, if you fail the knowledge exam, you’ll need to wait at least one day for a retest, and there may be an additional fee. Our practice tests provide the tools you need to pass the knowledge exam on your first attempt. As a bonus, this preparation will also help you with your hands-on Pre-Trip Inspection test, where you must accurately assess your vehicle’s condition. According to federal regulations 49 CFR § 392.7 and 49 CFR § 396.13, this inspection is required before hitting the road and is one of three skills tests that must be passed to receive a full CDL—alongside the basic control skills test and road test.
