Free IL CDL Passenger Vehicles Practice Test 2024
Drivers who want to operate passenger-carrying vehicles (such as buses, vans or shuttles) must obtain the Passenger (P) Endorsement on their Illinois Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). This endorsement is required for operating vehicles that are designed to carry 16 or more occupants, including the driver.
Whether you’re driving the Chicago Bears to their next game or safely bringing children to school in a designated school bus, you must pass a written knowledge test on operating passenger vehicles safely and a skills test in a passenger vehicle. The skills test includes a pre-trip inspection, a basic control skills test and a road test. Until you are ready and confident in your knowledge of passenger vehicle theory, you should take your time to practice on this CDL test.
This CDL practice test has 20 questions, which are based on the Illinois Commercial Driver’s License Study Guide (https://driving-tests.org/illinois/il-cdl-handbook/). To pass, you’ll need correct answers for 80% of the test questions. Instant feedback is provided after every answer, offering you a detailed explanation. This way, you won’t have to wait until the end of the test to know the correct answers.
It is recommended that you use our CDL Passenger guide while you practice on this test to maximize your chances of passing the written test. While this will not be allowed during the official exam, it gives you a chance to fully understand your wrong answers and memorize the correct version while you’re still learning.
This practice test mirrors the official written knowledge test in both format and content, using similar questions in a multiple-choice layout. There is no time limit, so you won’t feel the pressure a countdown could give you. Many students have passed the official exam on their first try simply because they practiced on a similar practice test before.
With each attempt, you build confidence and become familiar with the format and the types of questions that will be asked. When the day comes to take the official exam, some students may feel overwhelmed because it’s the first time they are faced with such a test. But after practicing on our CDL Passenger Vehicles Practice Tests, you’ll know exactly what to expect on the big day.
