Your preparation begins with going after a ‘P’ endorsement for your Louisiana Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), allowing you to operate a vehicle that can transport 16 or more passengers, including the driver. You will be required to pass a written knowledge test and a road skills test demonstrating your ability to operate such a vehicle. The written test concentrates on four specific areas: Driving Safely, Transporting Passengers Safely, Pre-Trip Vehicle Inspection, and Basic Vehicle Control Skills. By answering 16 of the 20 (80%) questions correctly, you will achieve a passing score and be issued your endorsement.
