The Pelican State. The Bayou State. Whichever nickname you prefer, Louisiana is filled with opportunities for CDL holders who are interested in operating vehicles designed to transport 16 or more people. The state’s roadways stretch from New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Shreveport, Lafayette, Lake Charles, and Alexandria to river parishes and Gulf Coast communities. Drivers are needed for airport shuttles, casino and resort transportation, church trips, school transportation networks, public transit, senior transportation, paratransit services, and more. If you want to obtain the passenger endorsement and tap into these opportunities, you’ll need to pass the Passenger Transport Knowledge Test with a minimum score of 80%, as well as meet other requirements. For example, if the CMV you plan to operate has air brakes, you’ll also have to pass the Air Brakes Knowledge Test. (More on that in a moment.) You also must pass the Skills Tests for the class of passenger vehicle you plan to operate. (Even if you already passed a Skills Test, you must take it again if it wasn’t taken in a representative passenger vehicle.)
That sounds like a lot to cover. But don’t worry. Our content experts will guide you through each step. Our Louisiana OMV CDL Passenger Endorsement Practice Tests are just the tool to help you pass your endorsement exam on the first attempt. Our tests present the material using the same multiple-choice structure as the official exam and help familiarize you with the sometimes-tricky wording you will face on your official exam. Our tests also feature an AI-powered Challenge Bank™ that remembers any questions you miss and repeats them until you answer correctly. Once you’ve aced this practice test, try another: https://driving-tests.org/louisiana/la-cdl-passenger-vehicles-practice-test/.
During your preparations, you’ll need to learn about pre-trip inspections, post-shift inspections, how to inspect the service brakes, parking brake, steering system, lights, reflectors, tires, horn, windshield wipers, mirrors, wheels, rims, coupling devices, and emergency equipment. You must also inspect the inside of the bus for objects obstructing pathways, to make sure handholds and railings are secure, that signaling devices work, and that seats are fastened safely.
You must understand the rules that riders must follow and be able to enforce them as needed. You will need to know how to load passengers safely, secure carry-on baggage (so it does not block aisles or exits), follow hazardous materials restrictions on buses, recognize the standee line, manage disruptive passengers, make smooth starts and stops, and use brake-door interlocks correctly. Our practice tests help reinforce the information you learn and make sure you are prepared.
