Passing the Michigan SOS CDL General Knowledge Test is one of the major barriers to operating a commercial motor vehicle (CMV). For the official exam, you are expected to understand speed and space management, braking and shifting techniques, skid control, railroad crossing procedures, emergency response, fatigue management, and hazard recognition.
