- Perfect for first-time and renewal CDL/CLP applicants, and those adding endorsements
- Based on 2025 MS commercial driver's license manual
- Triple-checked for accuracy
- Updated for August 2025
In Mississippi, a career in commercial driving begins with obtaining a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). This license is required to legally operate heavy trucks, buses, and other commercial vehicles. Before applying for a CDL, you must get a Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP) by passing a vision exam, providing proof of identification and residency, paying the application fees, and achieving a score of 80% or higher on the official general knowledge exam. This exam has 50 multiple-choice questions based on the official Mississippi Commercial Driver’s License Manual (Mississippi CDL Handbook 2025). This resource covers the various aspects of commercial driving theory, including safe driving practices, air brake systems, and pre-trip inspections.
For a Class A CDL, you must also pass the official combination vehicles knowledge exam. Since most commercial vehicles in Mississippi are equipped with air brakes, you must also pass the official air brakes knowledge test to drive them. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) requires all applicants to complete Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) from a registered training provider before they can schedule and take the CDL skills test. Additionally, if you plan to engage in non-excepted commerce, including transporting certain types of cargo (such as hazardous materials), you must pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) medical exam.
Our Mississippi CDL Class A Practice Test is an efficient study tool designed to boost your learning potential. Updated for August 2025, this practice test reflects the latest updates brought by DMV rules or state law. You must answer all 93 multiple-choice questions to finish a practice session. Since we have omitted any timer from this practice test, you should avoid rushing. The voice-over function lets you listen to the questions and answer choices read aloud by an artificial voice. This feature is especially useful for studying in busy environments where distractions are common. Activate it from the test settings menu to increase your focus and study efficiently.
If you stay consistent and use our practice tests as part of your daily study routine, you will gradually build the confidence and knowledge to pass the official written knowledge test on your first attempt. Start your career as a professional driver in Mississippi with a strong foundation of commercial driving theory, and let this practice test guide you through your learning phase.
