In Mississippi, a career in commercial driving begins with obtaining a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). This license is required to legally operate heavy trucks, buses, and other commercial vehicles. Before applying for a CDL, you must get a Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP) by passing a vision exam, providing proof of identification and residency, paying the application fees, and achieving a score of 80% or higher on the official general knowledge exam. This exam has 50 multiple-choice questions based on the official Mississippi Commercial Driver’s License Manual (Mississippi CDL Handbook 2025). This resource covers the various aspects of commercial driving theory, including safe driving practices, air brake systems, and pre-trip inspections.

App helped me so much after reading the MS CDL Book.
This site helped me so much after reading the MS CDL Book. The questions on this site resemble the exact questions on the test. Another thing about this site, it explains when you get a question wrong and also gives you hints when needed.

Was studying for my CDL from the MS manual.
I was studying for my CDL from the MS manual. I was so worried I would not pass I then went on line and was taking practice tests. I was afraid I wasn’t getting a wide variety of questions so I decided to purchase the study guide from Driving-Test.Org. So glad I did. It was a life saver. So many more questions and if you got them wrong they would save them so you could review them again. I took my test at the DMV this morning and passed with ease. Did not miss any for the air brakes or the passenger bus. Missed two in general knowledge and one in school bus. There were 115 questions I missed 3. I would highly recommend Drivers-test.org.

3 days to get permit.
After accepting a new job offer, I had 3 days to get my Class A CDL permit. I studied non-stop and had to spend about 4 hours per day understanding each test. After I could pass the practice test consistently, I went in to the DMV for the tests. Passed no problem. A few questions at the DMV I had never seen before, but even with that I passed well over 90%. I could not have done it in that amount if time by simply reading a 200-page CDL booklet that they gave me. It was well worth a monthly subscription. Thanks for everything.

Fantastic resource.
I did not have enough time before my CDL Class B Permit exam for General Knowledge, Air Brakes plus P and S endorsements so took a few of each practice exams. System said, b/c I really didn't get many practice tests in, that my probability was low for passing the real exam [really only b/c I didn't take enough of the practice tests].. well, I believe this product made all the difference b/c I Passed ALL 4 parts of my CDL Permit exams First TRY!

I studied the material and took the Hazmat, doubles and triples, and tanker endorsement.
I studied the material and took the practice exams several times before sitting for the exam yesterday. I finished all three exams with no errors in 20 minutes and and received my CDL hazmat, doubles and triples, and tanker endorsements without any issues. Thank you for this preparation program, it really works! I would recommend this to everyone.

About the Mississippi CDL

For a Class A CDL, you must also pass the official combination vehicles knowledge exam. Since most commercial vehicles in Mississippi are equipped with air brakes, you must also pass the official air brakes knowledge test to drive them. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) requires all applicants to complete Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) from a registered training provider before they can schedule and take the CDL skills test. Additionally, if you plan to engage in non-excepted commerce, including transporting certain types of cargo (such as hazardous materials), you must pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) medical exam.

Our Mississippi CDL Class A Practice Test is an efficient study tool designed to boost your learning potential. Updated for December 2025, this practice test reflects the latest updates brought by DMV rules or state law. You must answer all 93 multiple-choice questions to finish a practice session. Since we have omitted any timer from this practice test, you should avoid rushing. The voice-over function lets you listen to the questions and answer choices read aloud by an artificial voice. This feature is especially useful for studying in busy environments where distractions are common. Activate it from the test settings menu to increase your focus and study efficiently.

If you stay consistent and use our practice tests as part of your daily study routine, you will gradually build the confidence and knowledge to pass the official written knowledge test on your first attempt. Start your career as a professional driver in Mississippi with a strong foundation of commercial driving theory, and let this practice test guide you through your learning phase.

We know what it takes to pass. And we’ve got the proof.
