MT CDL Pre-Trip Inspection Practice Test 2 2026
Original questions by our teamBased on 2026 MT CDL Handbook
6 min
Brake system defects and tire violations account for the majority of out-of-service orders during roadside inspections. Inspectors check for missing components, worn linings, and defective chambers. Drivers rushing to meet delivery windows often shorten the vehicle inspection, missing issues that significantly increase the risk of accidents and breakdowns. As a fully licensed commercial driver, it is your responsibility to ensure the safety of your cargo, your passengers, and other road users.
There’s no room for error when you’re hauling hazardous materials on the winding roads of Montana. Low tire pressure reduces traction and can cause the vehicle to understeer on sharp curves, especially when fully loaded. Open the official Commercial Driver License Manual (Montana CDL Handbook 2026) in another window and scroll to Section 11 (Vehicle Inspection). Please read this section at least once to familiarize yourself with the pre-trip inspection.
The most determined students adopt a smarter approach during their learning phase. Instead of relying on traditional study methods, they incorporate our practice tests into their study routines. This is our second Montana CDL Pre-Trip Inspection practice test. It includes questions similar to those you will encounter on the official General Knowledge Test. Each question has multiple answer choices, but only one is correct.

How we make exam‑like questions
We mirror recurring themes (e.g., right‑of‑way traps, sign look‑alikes) and use similar distractors and wording styles.
