Free Nebraska CDL Permit Practice Test: General Knowledge 2025

  • Perfect for first-time and renewal CDL/CLP applicants, and those adding endorsements.

Need to obtain a Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP)? Need some help to pass the CDL General Knowledge test? You’ve certainly come to the right place! Don’t feel bad if you haven’t mastered your knowledge of commercial driving theory just by reading the official Nebraska Commercial Driver License Manual. It’s not unusual. That’s why it’s wise to supplement the manual with other study tools.

This free Nebraska CDL permit practice test is also based on the official manual and is up to date as of November, 2025. Practicing with it will enable you to think about what you read in the manual, reinforcing it in your mind. To make your study easier, each of the 50 practice questions comes with a helpful hint and an explanation of the correct answer. The practice questions contained in this test will assess your knowledge of such topics as cargo management, following distance, stopping distance, and vehicle components. Keep practicing your knowledge with as many of our practice tests as you can, as often as you can, until you feel confident that you’ve mastered the material and can ace the official General Knowledge test.

OK, so you passed the official test. Congratulations! Now what? Well, make sure you passed your medical examination and received your Medical Examiner’s Certificate proving that you passed. Depending on the types of vehicles you’ll be driving in your career, you may need to pass additional knowledge tests to have certain endorsements added to your CDL or certain restrictions removed from your CDL. Now it’s time to start practicing for the skills test for your CDL.

The skills test consists of three parts: basic vehicle maneuvers (such as backing), a pre-trip inspection of the vehicle, and a road test. You must perform the skills test in a vehicle that’s consistent with the class of CDL you’re applying for and the types of vehicles you’ll be driving in your career. If you’ve decided to get a Class A or Class B CDL, federal regulations require you to obtain formal training from a training provider listed in the federal Training Provider Registry (TPR).

Once you get your CDL, most of the major roads of Nebraska will be open to your commercial vehicle, so you can start earning money as a commercial driver. Interstate 80 is a major transcontinental route for trucks and buses, running from San Francisco through Nebraska, all the way to Teaneck, New Jersey. Nebraska doesn’t have a north-south interstate highway, but it does have U.S. Route 81, which runs from the northern border of North Dakota, connecting with I-80 in Nebraska to Fort Worth, Texas. This is a major route for trucks carrying agricultural products from Nebraska’s important agricultural sector.

Great The test prep is done well and the interface is very.
The test prep is done well and the interface is very nice. Questions were mostly on point to the questions on the actual test. The process of taking the tests is exactly how I like to learn. I would recommend it to anyone!- Gary

Purchased the tanker& hazmat courses.
Purchased the tanker& hazmat courses, by week 3 I felt good about the test, by week 4 I was getting all the questions correct. Every question on the DMV test was in the course material, might have been worded differently but overall same question. Amazing course 100%

If you struggle testing you Need to use this site!
I am someone who Seriously struggles when taking written tests. I had failed 2 written CDL tests prior to finding this and was beginning to lose hope. Reading the CDL manual (beyond mind numbing) and taking free CDL practice exams(didn’t have a lot of Real exam questions and poor interface) just wasn’t cutting it. Pony up, spend the money and pass your dang test. Their practice exams used more real exam and questions and then it helps focus in on the questions you’re struggling with.

I honestly believe anyone who completes….
I honestly believe anyone who completes the course will pass the test the first time. Yes, you have to dedicate some time, but it is very thorough, and the interactive practice makes for fast-paced learning. I passed CDL General Knowledge, Air Brakes, Passenger Vehicle, and School Bus in one sitting the first time.

I found it to be very people friendly.
Easy to navigate through. I studied for CDL General Knowledge, Air Brakes and Passenger Endorsement. I passed all three tests with at total of 4 wrong answers.

I read the manual and completed all of….
I read the manual and completed all of the study materials. I took the hazmat, tankers, and doubles and triples tests on the same day and only missed a total of 2 question. The study materials are very close to the test questions.

I passed the 4 CDL tests.
I passed the 4 CDL tests, CDL, School Bus, Passenger and Air Brakes the 1st time I took the test! The lady at the Secretary of state asked me how I did, I said better than I expected so she looked at the computer to see my score (I got a total of 6 wrong, you would pass if you got 22 wrong, fail if you got 23 or more wrong) and she said that I was very unusual to get so few wrong! One of the things I liked very much about the Driving-tests program was they repeated Many of the questions again and again so eventually I was getting them right. I would also like to say I knew Nothing about trucks or airbrakes. One last thing - I found the tests I took to get my CDL to be rather easy!: )

Did not go through a classroom course….
Did not go through a classroom course with an instructor for either of the Class A CDL courses - Knowledge, Combination, Air Brakes and Hazmat. Through Driving-test.org, I was well prepared for the Hazmat endorsement and passed with a very high score the first time!

Accurate testing samples and Exceptional Customer Service.
The practice tests were almost identical to the tests at the DMV. I passed my CDL and my Hazmat on my first try. I had issues at the DMV and was told I required additional testing, so While taking the tests, I was assisted by a Customer Service representative and after a bit of chatting, we figured out that the information from the DMV was inaccurate. She was able to provide me with documents showing where these prerequisites were NOT necessary for the license I need. I was also reimbursed for the package that I unnecessarily purchased. I am completely satisfied with my entire experience with the exception of several trips to the DMV.

So I had my Cdlp exam in three parts.
So I had my Cdlp exam in three parts, knowledge test, airbrakes and combo vehicles. Passed the knowledge part and failed the other two. Spent a few hours reviewing the air brakes test and reviewing the top 75 questions on combo vehicles. walked in the next day and passed everything. The online tests were my key to passing and the challenge bank helped me learn stuff I didnt know till I got it right. Worth the investment.

Outstanding program.
The videos are excellent and cover all the subject areas in great detail. The practice tests align with all the material covered and really prepare you for the test. I highly recommend this program for ELDT and CDL exams.
