- Perfect for first-time and renewal CDL/CLP applicants, and those adding endorsements
- Based on 2025 NV commercial driver's license manual
- Triple-checked for accuracy
- Updated for August 2025
To become a commercial driver in Nevada, you must be at least 18 for intrastate driving (within the state) and 21 for interstate driving (across state lines). You begin the licensing process by obtaining a Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP), which requires passing a vision exam and the 50-question general knowledge written test. You must also pass a DOT medical exam (if you plan to engage in non-excepted commerce), provide identification documents, and pay the application fees. To get a Class A CDL, you must also pass the official combination vehicles knowledge exam. A Class A CDL opens up many job opportunities.
FMCSA mandates Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) for all aspiring commercial drivers in the United States. You must complete this course to schedule and take the CDL skills tests. Since most trucks in Nevada are equipped with air brakes, you must also pass the official air brakes knowledge test and a skills test in a vehicle with air brakes to legally operate them. If you plan to get additional endorsements, keep in mind that they require separate knowledge tests. The Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements also require skills tests.
Our Nevada CDL Class A Practice Test is an intuitive tool designed to boost your learning potential. It consists of 93 multiple-choice questions based on the official Nevada Commercial Driver License Manual (Nevada CDL Handbook 2025). You must score 80% or higher to pass, but we recommend ignoring your score during your first few attempts. We provide immediate feedback for each question, helping you understand the reasoning behind the correct answer. You should note this detailed explanation in a notebook or notebook app for future reference. The voice-over function uses an artificial voice to read the questions and answer choices aloud. You can activate it from the test settings menu located in the top-right corner of the page. Use this feature to remove distractions and increase your focus.
Your dream career is within reach, but you must put in the time and effort to become a successful commercial driver. Our practice tests will get you there faster by helping you master commercial driving theory through active learning.
