The Granite State requires everyone interested in driving school buses to meet all federal, state, and often local requirements. You must pass the New Hampshire CDL School Bus Endorsement Knowledge Test. Additionally, you’ll need to pass the CDL Passenger Endorsement Knowledge Test and the Air Brakes Knowledge Test (if you want to operate buses with air brakes). You’ll also need to pass a full behind-the-wheel skills examination in a representative school bus. This substantial list of requirements can seem daunting at first, but our New Hampshire CDL School Bus “S” Endorsement Knowledge Practice Tests are the perfect tool to pass those requirements on your first attempt. And, as icing on the cake, we have practice tests for all the endorsement exams and air brake exams (more on that below).
The school bus endorsement exam centers on student safety, particularly during loading and unloading. National statistics show that the greatest danger to children is in the areas immediately surrounding the bus. You’ll be tested extensively on managing these danger zones through mirror adjustment, constant scanning, bus positioning, and stopping procedures. Drivers must understand how to execute controlled stops, secure the vehicle properly, use required warning devices, and account for each child before moving the bus. You’ll need to understand protocol at railroad crossings, during emergencies, during evacuations, and with regard to student management. Clothing, drawstrings, or backpacks can become dangerous when caught in handrails, and there are expected protocols to minimize this hazard.
Our School Bus Endorsement Practice Tests use interactive AI to speed your learning process and increase overall retention. Additional features include a Challenge Bank™ of questions designed to recycle missed responses until mastery is achieved. We’ve eliminated any fluff often found in outdated study guides and static pdfs, saving valuable time and mental bandwidth. And, as if that wasn’t enough, at the end of each practice session, you’ll receive a review that highlights any areas needing further practice. If the school bus is equipped with air brakes, you’ll need to pass the Air Brakes Test to remove restrictions on air brake operation. We have practice tests for that, too: https://driving-tests.org/new-hampshire/nh-cdl-air-brake-practice-test/.
As mentioned above, you’ll also need to pass the Passenger Endorsement Exam. Check out our practice tests specific to that: https://driving-tests.org/new-hampshire/nh-cdl-passenger-vehicles-practice-test/.
