Welcome to our second New Hampshire CDL Pre-Trip Inspection Practice Test! You can use this intuitive tool to master the vehicle inspection, which is discussed in Section 11 of the official Commercial Driver’s License Manual (New Hampshire CDL Handbook 2026).
Your knowledge of this procedure will be evaluated at a DMV office on exam day. First, you will take the official General Knowledge Exam, which includes 50 multiple-choice questions. Scoring 80% or higher and meeting several other requirements will grant you a CLP (Commercial Learner’s Permit), which you must hold for at least 14 days. During this time, you will practice driving commercial vehicles under the supervision of a full CDL holder.
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) requires all aspiring commercial drivers to complete Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) before they can schedule and take their CDL skills tests. You must perform the vehicle inspection correctly during your CDL skills tests and at the start of every shift once you begin a career in this field.
These practice tests are the solution to your study needs. You can train with them as often as your schedule allows. There’s no timer to pressure you, so please finish each session at your own pace. Immediate feedback is provided for all questions, helping you identify mistakes and learn from them as soon as they occur. For future reference, we recommend noting this detailed explanation in a notebook or notebook app. If you have any questions related to the pre-trip inspection, you can ask “Officer Frank” during your practice sessions. This automated assistant will provide personalized answers to your individual questions and help you understand why this procedure is important.
Avoid rushing your learning phase. During this time, you build the foundation for your driving skills. Please progress at your own pace and take as long as you need to complete the learning journey. Our Free New Hampshire CDL Permit Practice Test will teach you general commercial driving theory and help you ace the official General Knowledge Exam on your first attempt. Train with it regularly and your knowledge will naturally improve over time.
