The official New Mexico commercial driver license manual (New Mexico CDL Handbook 2025) is a useful resource for everyone who wants to get a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) in the Land of Enchantment. You should read its contents at least once to familiarize yourself with the various aspects of commercial driving theory, including emergency procedures, pre-trip inspections, traffic laws, and safe driving practices. In New Mexico, all CDL applicants must pass a 50-question general knowledge exam.
