An emerging study method is eliminating the difficulties often experienced in developing commercial driving skills. Our New York Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) General Knowledge practice test series employs an expertly designed study method that effectively enhances your driving skills. While it may take a little longer than a Midnight Moment, you’ll experience a rapid advancement in your understanding of the essential skills required to obtain your CDL. This second free CDL General Knowledge practice test is the next step in working toward your success. With the help of the practice test, you’ll be able to overcome your specific learning barriers.
Saving you time by focusing on your most crucial misunderstandings, our CDL General Knowledge practice test produces outstanding results in maximizing your driving skills. This approach helps prepare you to pass the official knowledge test required for a commercial learner’s permit (CLP). With the CLP, you will be allowed to begin driving a commercial vehicle under the supervision of a CDL holder. You must correctly answer at least 80% of the 50 questions on the official knowledge test to pass. The practice test uses questions like those on the official knowledge test to identify your knowledge gaps and directs you to the information that fills them.

This CDL General Knowledge practice test helps you to gain a better understanding of complicated information crucial to your success. The practice test is based on the most recent New York DMV CDL manual (New York DMV Handbook (NY Driver's Manual) 2026) to provide you with the information that corrects your most critical misconceptions. You will learn information from the most authoritative source of the rules and regulations of commercial driving. In the event you get a question wrong, the practice test immediately responds with a full explanation of the information that supports the correct answer. Traditional study methods (e.g., study guides) aren’t designed to support this style of learning. Study guides train you to memorize the answers to a series of questions. As a result, you are limited to learning surface knowledge. The 6,614 practice tests completed by aspiring New York commercial drivers this past week have helped them develop a deeper understanding of how to analyze various driving scenarios and react to them. You can access the same comprehensive training and use these practice tests to increase your chances of passing the official knowledge test on your first try.
